Globalization or Decoupling?

We know by book that communism is against capitalism, trade or anything commercial nature. But China since joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) at the start of this century, has found itself quite a beneficiary of global trade or called globalization.

Suddenly China becomes the “world factory” and all the investment capitals are pouring into China. The Chinese are also producing billionaires in many industry fields. China at the price of over — development and consumption of its own resources, successfully dominates the global supply chain of production and also uses its production capability to initiate the “One Belt One Road” campaign which targets to build up infrastructure across the world. No wonder, the Chinese often claim they are pro globalization.

Using the Covid-19 pandemic as an example, when the pandemic broke out in early 2020, the world found itself in urgent and large supply of medical materials like masks, hand washing fluids, sanitary gloves, respiratory machines, etc. But soon countries realized the supplies had to mainly come from China because no other countries are producing these materials anymore.

The US government back then, led by President Donald Trump, had already been in a trade war with China. But then the US realized this new wave of globalization actually…
