What to Check over the Spectrum of Ideologies?

We may find many labels for ideologies in this world, but in a larger sense or at a higher level, the spectrum of ideologies can be categorized by right, middle and left positions.

In this spectrum, far right, we have Dystopia and fascism, far left, we have Utopia and communism, in the middle we have capitalism and socialism. If we categorize further, capitalism has traditional capitalism and modern capitalism, while socialism has Soviet socialism and democratic socialism.

What’s the most difficult part in understanding ideologies? An ideology always tries to paint itself as being good, beneficial and attractive, because it must be supported or followed by the majority of people to be sustainable.

No ideology wants to say itself is bad, evil or brutal, and that will be suicidal. In such a situation, if an ideology is truly good and popular, then things are mostly settled.

But what about an ideology that sounds too good to be true? or an ideology just tries to disguise itself to be good?

The legacy Chinese philosophy and wisdom such as Taoism is known as disdaining and rejecting any extreme thinking and behaviors. Taoism points out things will be reversed when going extreme. This is like Isaac Newton’s famous law of physics…
