How the Trinity of Modern Society Differentiates the Two Countries?
Democracy, freedom and the rule of law make up the trinity of modern society. In other words, if a society is not built up upon these three pillars, then that society is not a real modern society.
Based on this criteria, unfortunately many countries in this world are not qualified as being modern nations yet. Don’t they want to become a modern country? Of course they do. But how to get there remains a long and challenging journey.
Using China as an example, way back to the early 20th century, the Chinese already rose up once and again, fighting to topple the Qing Empire and establishing the first Republic of China in Asia. But the objectives of democracy, freedom and the rule of law, after all these years to date, still hang somewhere out there for China and its people to reach and accomplish.
What is so difficult? Guess we just run into the Way It Is: The Chinese culture and tradition were born with few DNAs of democracy, freedom and the rule of law. In such a situation, what they can do is to learn the new and convert from the old to new. This transformation process, however, is where all the difficulties come from.
